Flag Football Recap: Harris County Takes Down Gainesville in a Playoff Battle

Harris County had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Gainesville Red Elephants get on the board and left with a 34-0 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 18 matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.

Madalynn Cauley produced another solid effort throwing for 221 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.5% of her passes, and also rushing for 75 yards on only six carries. What's more, she racked up 157.5 passer rating, the most she's had over her last eight games.

Another reason for the win was Harris County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Baylee Hetzel and Tyler Norman, who racked up four sacks between them. Hetzel has been hot recently, having posted two or more sacks the last three times she's played. Harris County got some further help from Addison Fowler: she made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Harris County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.7 points over those games. As for Gainesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

As of now, neither Harris County nor the Red Elephants have any future games scheduled.
