Volleyball Recap: Brookfield Central's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Brookfield Central dropped down to 18-18 on Saturday, ending the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Brookfield East Spartans by a score of 2-1. While the Lancers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Spartans 25-21 in the first set.

Olivia Witon paced Brookfield Central's offense, picking up seven kills. Witon got some help from Emma Duff and her 12 assists. Molly Daugherty controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

As for Brookfield East, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-9 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since October 4th.

Amorina Compean-Costello was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 25 digs and six assists. That's the most assists she has posted over her last seven contests.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Brookfield Central will take on rival West Allis Hale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Brookfield East is set to challenge their familiar foe Wauwatosa West at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
