Last Wednesday, Aspire Ollin was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-53 to Orthopaedic. Aspire Ollin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their defeat, Aspire Ollin saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Christopher Gomez, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Ismael Osuna, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Annenberg suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They were beaten by Downtown Magnets 79-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Annenberg has suffered against Downtown Magnets since December 10, 2018.
Aspire Ollin has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Annenberg, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Aspire Ollin beat Annenberg 49-38 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will Aspire Ollin repeat their success, or does Annenberg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
