Foothill hasn't had much luck against Arvin recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Trojans will head out to face off against the Bears at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Arvin will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Foothill extended their winning streak to eight on Thursday. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 17-5 margin over Del Oro.
Levi Price was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Price was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, Carlos Ruano was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Eduardo Rios was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Foothill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, while Arvin put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Golden Valley. The Bears put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 13-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Bears sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Like Foothill, Arvin also got a great game from a two-way player: Alex Nunez. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Nunez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jaime Pantoja was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daniel Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Foothill pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Arvin, their record now sits at 14-7-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Foothill has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Arvin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Foothill couldn't quite get it done against Arvin in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-3. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
