The Bucktail Bucks will face off against the West Branch Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Bucktail is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
Bucktail made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Muncy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bucks put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 16-7 win on Thursday. The game was the first time the Bucks have beaten the Indians on their field since April 11, 2022.

Carrie Ditty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Eva Sockman was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Makenna Stone, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
Sockman wasn't the only one making solid contact: Bucktail kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Muncy only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, West Branch entered their tilt with Curwensville on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They never let the Golden Tide get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The Warriors' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three matches.
Not much got past Makena Moore, who gave up just a hit and racked up 17 Ks to keep Curwensville off the board. Moore has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, West Branch saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lindsey Bainey, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.
Bucktail's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for West Branch, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Bucktail has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like West Branch struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bucktail suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to West Branch in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Bucks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
