The Spanaway Lake Sentinels will be home for the holidays to greet the Washington Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Spanaway Lake pushed their score all the way to 56 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-56 to Stadium. While losing is never fun, Spanaway Lake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Stadium is ranked 24th).
Spanaway Lake's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aj Blanks, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, and Darius Alexander who scored 16 points along with five assists. Blanks scored a full 35.7% of Spanaway Lake's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Key'Andre White was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Washington, who are still winless after their sixth match. They took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Foss on Friday. Washington has not had much luck with Foss recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Spanaway Lake's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Washington, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6.
