After a string of three wins, the United Golden Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They were dealt a 85-49 loss at the hands of John F. Kennedy Catholic.
John F. Kennedy Catholic was led to victory by Ava Darney and Didi Ryan. Darney went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 0 assists, while Ryan dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. The game was Ryan's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Myers, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
United's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
United will head out on the road to face off against East Palestine at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
