The St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Saints's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 14-13 to St. Albans. While losing is never fun, St. Stephen's & St. Agnes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 175th in Virginia, while St. Albans is ranked ninth in District of Columbia).
Matty Patrone threw for 101 yards on eight of 12 attempts. Luke Pascal was his top target, picking up 96 receiving yards.
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes bumped their record down to 2-7 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Maret and 8-2 Georgetown Prep (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.7% over those games). As for St. Albans, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes will head out on the road to face off against Landon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Albans, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Georgetown Prep at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
