Tri-County recap September 24, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Tri-County this week, Yuba City beat Bella Vista 33-20,. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Honkers.
Pioneer moved up to 792 from 821 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Patriots were able to move up by beating Valley 57-24.
TJ Dove was a force in the backfield as River Valley bested Marysville.
Dillon Milton made the biggest impact on defense this week as Woodland lost to Colfax. He nabbed 2 interceptions.
Dove was the best running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 256 yards as the Falcons fell to the Falcons. Teammate Devin Cates added to the ground attack by rushing for 69 yards.
Isaac Lessard put up the best numbers through the air as Yuba City defeated the Broncos. He had a total of 4 completions for 96 yards. Lessard's favorite target this week was Devin Pettengill, who caught 2 passes for 54 yards.
Dove provided a threat through the air and on the ground as River Valley bested the Indians.
Jones was the best wideout in Tri-County this week as Woodland lost to Colfax. Jones tallied 3 receptions for 60 yards. Connor Wright helped Woodland's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 30 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, John Ithuburn's team's Lessard and Pettengill have proven to be a lethal combination. Lessard has thrown for 578 yards this season, while Pettengill has 7 catches for 220 yards. Bill Sherman's team's Dove leads the league in rushing yards with 639.
Natomas lost to Amador 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
