After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chanute Christian, the El Dorado Christian Buffalos were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They took down Varsity Opponent 38-21. That's another feather in the cap for El Dorado Christian, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
El Dorado Christian was led to victory by McKenzie Cole and Breann Reasoner. Cole scored 16 points along with nine rebounds, while Reasoner dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Cole has scored at least a third of El Dorado Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Sophia Bryson, who scored five points.
El Dorado Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Varsity Opponent, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 14 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 79-301 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Dorado Christian will take on Heartland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Varsity Opponent, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Laurel HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th. Laurel HomeSchool's defense has only allowed 29.5 points per game this season, so Varsity Opponent's offense will have their work cut out for them.
