On Thursday Neodesha will take on Independent at 7:00 PM. Neodesha aren't expected to win, but seeing as the odds didn't stop them last game, maybe the squad has another upset up their sleeve.
Neodesha have had to suffer through a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They captured a comfortable 35-20 win over Fredonia. Among those leading the charge for Neodesha was junior Toby Curtis, who caught passes for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns. Curtis has now scored at least one touchdown in the past six games.
Meanwhile, Independent have been struggling to pick up a victory, with their contest against Remington last Friday making it eight winless games in a row. Independent suffered a grim 14-43 defeat to Remington. The state rankings had actually given Independent a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
Neodesha's victory lifted them to 1-7 while Independent's loss dropped them down to 0-8. We'll see if Neodesha can repeat their recent success or if Independent bounce back and reverse their fortune.
