The Gilmer Bobcats waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Fannin County 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Gilmer also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Brayner Ortiz and
Alex Tercero, who scored both of Gilmer's goals. The pair have combined for a total of five so far this season.
Gilmer's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Fannin County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Gilmer will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Trion at 7:00 p.m. As for Fannin County, they will head out on the road to challenge North Murray at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
