The Hawthorne Hornets had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their match on the road on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 78-16 win over Bell. The victory was nothing new for Hawthorne as they're now sitting on 14 straight.
De' Mya Adams was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with five steals. She hasn't dropped below three steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Jhalea Jackson, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and seven assists.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bell struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Hawthorne's win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Bell, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.
Hawthorne will take on Newberry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hawthorne is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Bell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
