In what's become a running theme this season, the United Longhorns gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Eagle Pass 97-30 on the road. That looming 97-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for United yet this season.
United's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alejandra Idrogo, who went 10 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Idrogo has scored all season. Emily Escamilla was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with eight steals and five rebounds.
United pushed their record up to 23-9 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Eagle Pass, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.
United will be playing at home against Del Rio at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Del Rio will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 828th, while United is ranked 131st). As for Eagle Pass, they will head out on the road to take on Laredo LBJ at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 22 consecutive losses for Laredo LBJ and 11 for Eagle Pass.
