The Seton Catholic Sentinels were the 58-46 winner over the Saguaro Sabercats when they last played one another on January 9th, but their luck changed this time around. Seton Catholic lost to Saguaro on the road by a decisive 59-43 margin on Tuesday.
When it comes to explaining why Seton Catholic lost, one person who can't be blamed is Julian Garcia. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Garcia has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Brock Steele was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Seton Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Saguaro, their victory bumped their record up to 7-13.
Seton Catholic will be playing at home against Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mesquite knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 matches -- so hopefully Seton Catholic likes a good challenge. Saguaro won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Arcadia at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Arcadia is ranked 124th, while Saguaro is ranked 131st).
