After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Erie, the Pleasanton Blu-Jays were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They walked away with a 59-46 win over Jayhawk Linn. That's another feather in the cap for Pleasanton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pleasanton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mario Davis, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Davis hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Tony Gillespie, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Jayhawk Linn still got an impressive performance from Ryan Broyles, who scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that Broyles scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryton Spencer, who scored nine points.
Pleasanton pushed their record up to 6-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Jayhawk Linn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pleasanton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Uniontown at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Uniontown is ranked 272nd, while Pleasanton is ranked 263rd). As for Jayhawk Linn, Jayhawk Linn and Oswego will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Oswego focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
