William Floyd and Central Islip are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The William Floyd Colonials will head out on the road to face off against the Central Islip Musketeers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. William Floyd will be strutting in after a win while Central Islip will be coming in after a loss.
William Floyd has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season. They breezed by Riverhead at home to the tune of 58-23. With that victory, William Floyd brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.
It was another big night for Jacqueline Sutherland, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten steals. Sutherland is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kayden Meyer was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Central Islip's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a rough 56-16 loss at the hands of Walt Whitman. Central Islip has not had much luck with Walt Whitman recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
William Floyd's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Central Islip, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
