The Lytle Pirates won the last time they faced the Stacey Eagles, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Lytle came out on top against Stacey by a score of 61-53. Given Lytle's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 376th, while Stacey is ranked 1093rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Chase Guevara, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Pierce, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Lytle's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Stacey, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Lytle will be home for the holidays to greet Southside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southside is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for Stacey, they will head out on the road to face off against Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lutheran and Stacey are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
