The contest between them and Sumner-Eddyville-Miller wasn't particularly close, with Pleasanton falling 56-42. Pleasanton has not had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Pleasanton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyra Sekutera. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points. It was the first time this season that Sekutera scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jaycee Flood, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Pleasanton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Sumner-Eddyville-Miller's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayleigh Jackson, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. It was the first time this season that Jackson scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taryn Arbuthnot, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Pleasanton has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-2.
