On Wednesday, the Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering Panthers faced the Cardozo Clerks in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering was outmatched by Cardozo on the road and fell 64-16. Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-9.
Cardozo got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Wisdom Carter out in front who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Jonathan Gray iii was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 11 rebounds and seven steals.
Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Cardozo, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ron Brown is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Cardozo will be home for the holidays to greet McKinley Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
