Pottsville extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region 4 this week by beating Dardanelle, 39-10. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Apaches.
Mena made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,185 from 10,803. The improvement was the result of 48-7 victory over Dover last week.
Pottsville's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Apaches feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Michael Perry has thrown for 152 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Tyler Weaver has three catches for 58 yards. Perry also leads the league in rushing with 267 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Sandlizards take on Booneville. Dardanelle is in second place, while the Bearcats are in fourth place.
The Bearcats led 4A Region 4 in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on the Pirates.
