A well-balanced attack led Chicago Marshall over Mather in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Chicago Marshall Commandos blew the Mather Rangers out of the water with a 61-20 final score. The Commandos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 24 points or more this season.
Janiyah Green was her usual excellent self, going 10 for 21 on her way to 21 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alysha Murphy, who went 6 of 10 en route to 12 points along with five rebounds and four blocks.
Chicago Marshall smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in four consecutive contests.
Several Rangers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Temi Yesufu, who posted eight points. Yesufu is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last five games she's played. Kayrhianna Jackson was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.
Chicago Marshall has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for Mather, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.
