The Wando Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Cane Bay Cobras at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Wando is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Stratford on Wednesday. They fell 7-2 to the Knights.
Paxton Hunt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits.
At the plate, Wando saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Gold, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Sofie Moore also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cane Bay). They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over Goose Creek on Wednesday. With that victory, the Cobras brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.
Isabella Kelly looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emma Tychek, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Miller, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Cane Bay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.2.
Cane Bay's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8. As for Wando, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Wando was able to grind out a solid victory over Cane Bay in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 10-7. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cobras turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
