The Dysart Demons entered their tilt with the Peoria Panthers with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Dysart came out on top against Peoria by a score of 74-65 on Wednesday. Given Dysart's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Peoria is ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dysart got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lamar Anderson out in front who scored 17 points. Anderson also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nigel Anderson, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Terrell Colenburg, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him. Desmone Brooks-conley was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Dysart pushed their record up to 7-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Peoria, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dysart will take on Vista Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Peoria won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Arcadia at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. Arcadia is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
