Baseball Recap: Eaton Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Eaton came tearing into Saturday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Basalt Longhorns 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Reds, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Malaki Dalpra was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Liam Whalen, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Eaton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Basalt only posted an OBP of .333.

Eaton pushed their record up to 17-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Basalt, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Eaton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Basalt, they will host Meeker at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
