Section 4 C Division IV recap October 1, 2013
Dryden scaled the state rankings by moving to 192 from 319 this week, the biggest jump in Section 4 C Division IV. The Lions climbed the ranks as a result of topping Greene 47-12.
Alan Davis provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Dryden defeated the Trojans. He completed 7 passes for 202 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 60 yards. Davis' key target this week was Matthew McHerron, who caught 3 passes for 87 yards.
Peyton Miller threw for 188 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 13-19 with 0 interception.
Miller put up the best numbers in passing as Waverly topped Whitney Point. Miller's favorite target this week was Dylan Perry, who caught 4 passes for 123 yards.
The Wolverines' Miller and Perry have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Miller has thrown for 767 yards this season, while Perry, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 20 catches for 443 yards. Davis from Dan Fink's team leads the league in rushing with 351 yards.
As it stands, the Lions are in second, while Lansing is in third.
Dryden made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,456 from 9,197. The improvement was the result of a 47-12 victory over Greene last week.
