After flying high against the Azle Hornets last Tuesday, the Rider Raiders came back down to earth. Rider took a hard 77-61 fall against Granbury on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (58), Rider still had to take the loss.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caiden Reed, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Aday, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Rider has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season. As for Granbury, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Northwest the next time they take the court. Granbury will head out to face Northwest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Rider will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
