The Westview Knights can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Monday. They claimed a resounding 68-31 victory over La Joya Community at home. 68 seems to be a good number for Westview as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Dominic Montoya had a dynamite game for Westview, scoring 27 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Montoya has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maxwell Bynum, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, La Joya Community still got an impressive performance from Makuach Makuei, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Makuei hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
La Joya Community struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Westview racked up 19 assists.
Westview's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-10. As for La Joya Community, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-20.
Westview won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Verrado at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Arizona (Westview is ranked 137th, while Verrado is ranked 149th). La Joya Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
