Americas and El Dorado are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Trail Blazers will host the Aztecs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Americas' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
Americas made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Del Valle, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Trail Blazers blew past the Conquistadores 16-2 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Trail Blazers, who have now won 13 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Zoe O'Hara spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Americas let Miley Rodriguez and Lea Guevara run wild. Rodriguez scored three runs while going 2-for-4, while Guevara scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Those three stolen bases gave Guevara a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Odalys Solis, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Americas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They are a perfect 13-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, El Dorado suffered their biggest loss since February 15th on Wednesday. They lost 13-3 to Del Valle.
El Dorado saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Lopez, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Nevaeh Matsuda was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Americas pushed their record up to 16-13 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for El Dorado, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Americas hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. However, it's not like El Dorado struggles in that department as they've averaged .456. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Americas skirted past El Dorado 1-0 in their previous matchup back in March. Do the Trail Blazers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Aztecs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
