It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Leroy Bears had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They skirted past the Eagles 62-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leroy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ray Phillips, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Phillips has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Malik Howell was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Leroy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for Bayshore Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-16.
Leroy will head out on the road to square off against McIntosh at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. McIntosh is coming into the contest with five straight wins at home, meaning Leroy will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. Bayshore Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
