The Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers were the 63-41 winner over the John Marshall Monarchs when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Buckhannon-Upshur received a tough blow on Saturday as they fell 67-52 to the Monarchs.
Several Buccaneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Casadie Lahman, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Abel, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Buckhannon-Upshur's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for John Marshall, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Buckhannon-Upshur will head out on the road to take on the Minutemen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Lewis County's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home while the Buccaneers have been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. John Marshall will take on the Redskins at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Indian Creek will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
