Basketball Recap: Cross Piles Up the Points Against Savannah Athletic Association

Cross was handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Savannah Athletic Association on Tuesday. The Stingrays simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Jaguars 75-36. The Stingrays have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Savannah Athletic Association saw an underclassman step up: freshman Natalie Santos posted 18 points. That was a full 50% of the Jaguars' points, marking the fourth time in a row Santos has put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Emily Burgos, who scored seven points.

Cross' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Savannah Athletic Association, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cross will face off against Hilton Head Prep at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Savannah Athletic Association, they will square off against Varsity Opponent on Thursday.
