On Friday, The Bishop LeBlond Eagles faced the Plattsburg Tigers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bishop LeBlond received a tough blow as they fell 37-22 to Plattsburg. Bishop LeBlond lost against Plattsburg in their previous head to head last Friday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 40-34 score last time.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jackson Sigrist, who picked up 71 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Bishop LeBlond's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-4. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Plattsburg, Archie, and Schuyler County. As for Plattsburg, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
After each having a week off, Bishop LeBlond and St. Joseph Christian will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. St. Joseph Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. Plattsburg will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on DeKalb on November 3rd. DeKalb is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
