Laporte came into Friday's matchup having lost 15 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 48-43 victory over Red Lake on Friday. The win was just what Laporte needed coming off of a 79-17 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Long Prairie-Grey Eagle's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by Brandon/Evansville 61-26.
Laporte's win ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-23. As for Long Prairie-Grey Eagle, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-15.
