The Springstead Eagles will take on the Hernando Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springstead will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Hernando's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Springstead hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Eagles never let Nature Coast Tech get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Friday.
Not much got past Alivia Miller, who gave up just two hits and racked up 15 Ks to keep Nature Coast Tech off the board. Miller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rachel Rivera, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Hernando not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11, 2025 (when they won 15-0). They put the hurt on Weeki Wachee with a sharp 14-4 victory.
LEANNA CLARK was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. CLARK was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Hernando got a massive performance out of ADDISYN SLOCUM, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was AUBREY KNIERIM, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
The win got Hernando back to even at 1-1. As for Springstead, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Springstead came out on top in a nail-biter against Hernando in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, sneaking past 6-5. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Leopards turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
