The Staples Wreckers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a  21-10  victory over Stamford. That's another feather in the cap for Staples, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
  Caleb Smith continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 215 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry.
 Staples' victory  bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Stamford, their defeat  dropped their record down to 3-3.
 Staples will head out on the road to face off against Danbury at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Danbury will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Staples is ranked 12th). As for Stamford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trumbull at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
