The Campbell County Cougars lost against the Anderson County Mavericks back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Campbell County was outmatched by Anderson County on the road and fell 67-38.
Campbell County's loss came despite strong showings from Tyler Kitts and Gavin Owens. Kitts scored 11 points, while Owens scored five points.
Campbell County's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-10. As for Anderson County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Campbell County will take on South-Doyle at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Anderson County and Gibbs will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Gibbs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Anderson County is ranked 127th).
