Softball Recap: Lakeshore Wins Going Away Against Pope John Paul II

Lakeshore's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Pope John Paul II Jaguars with a sharp 10-3 win. Considering Lakeshore has won seven games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Annabella Litolff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

At the plate, Lakeshore got a massive performance out of Aubrey Gaudet, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Gaudet has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Tannah Willie, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double.

Lakeshore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.

Lakeshore's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Pope John Paul II, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeshore will welcome Fontainebleau at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pope John Paul II, they will host Mandeville at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
