Two dominant signal callers in Javier Rice and Elijiah Oehlke are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Asheville Christian Academy Lions are on the road again on Friday and play against the Trinity Christian Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Asheville Christian Academy will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Last Friday, everything went Asheville Christian Academy's way against SouthLake Christian Academy as Asheville Christian Academy made off with a 47-27 victory.
Rice was his usual excellent self, throwing for 446 yards and six touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Rice hasn't dropped below 300 passing yards for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Holmes, who picked up 63 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Asheville Christian Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. SouthLake Christian Academy's QB won't forget Peyton Raby anytime soon given Raby sacked him five times.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian entered their tilt with Harrells Christian Academy with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Trinity Christian took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 43-14 victory over Harrells Christian Academy. The result was nothing new for Trinity Christian, who have now won eight games by 29 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trinity Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xayden Watson, who rushed for 12 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 54 yards and a touchdown on only two passes. Karlfonza Smith did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 87 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Asheville Christian Academy to 3-7 and Trinity Christian to 8-1.
