McCormick is 3-0 against Lincoln County since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The McCormick Chiefs will be home for the holidays to greet the Lincoln County Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Wednesday, McCormick was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 39-34 to Emerald. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points McCormick has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Lincoln County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 57-42 bruising from Edmund Burke Academy. While losing is never fun, Lincoln County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 455th, while Edmund Burke Academy is ranked 115th).
McCormick's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-4. As for Lincoln County, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.
McCormick came out on top in a nail-biter against Lincoln County when the teams last played back in December of 2021, sneaking past 51-48. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lincoln County's Carly Carruth, who scored 17 points.
