The Riverside Frontiers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Grand Island, falling 81-40. Riverside was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-20.
Javon Elliot and Landon Jaeckle certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Elliot scored 13 points, while Jaeckle scored 12 points. Jaeckle scored a full 30% of Riverside's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Al Hasan Balde was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Riverside bumped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Grand Island, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Eden at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th. Hopefully Eden focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday. As for Grand Island, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lewiston-Porter at 6:30 p.m.
