Baseball Recap: Hope Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Southfield Christian

Hope Christian Academy had won three straight at home, but on Thursday they bumped their record up to 4-9 to make it four. Everything went their way against the Southfield Christian Eagles as they made off with an 11-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

As for Southfield Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games.

For Southfield Christian's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Groh, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. The Eagles are 2-1 when Groh posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-6 otherwise.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hope Christian Academy will face off against Clarenceville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southfield Christian, they will be playing at home against Redford Union at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
