After flying high against the Unity Christian Lions on Thursday, the Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] Titans came back down to earth. Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] received a tough blow on Monday as they fell 56-40 to Arcola. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] has scored all season.
Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Josie Armstrong, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Armstrong scored a full 47.5% of Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland]'s points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Hales, who scored 14 points.
Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Kacie Sisk was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds for Arcola. The match was Sisk's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Moore, who scored eight points.
Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland]'s loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Arcola, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] will face off against Paris at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Paris: 27.9, Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland]: 29.9) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Arcola, they will head out on the road to face off against Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 676th, while Arcola is ranked 238th).
