The Poquoson Islanders's 11-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They managed a 62-56 victory over Tabb. Poquoson's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Poquoson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dayne Galacgac, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Galacgac has scored all season. Khaleo Smith was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Tabb's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Landon Powell, who scored 17 points along with five steals, and Micah Marbra who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Powell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Owen Reeves, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Poquoson's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-7. As for Tabb, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Poquoson will face off against Nandua at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tabb, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Jamestown at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Jamestown's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
