Manual dropped their record down to 13-8 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 9-3 to the Lincoln Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 10-1 loss two weeks ago.
Manual saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leo Zimmerman, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Another was Jesus Marquez, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
As for Lincoln, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.
On Lincoln's side, Gio Castro was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Castro was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Sam Trujillo was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Lincoln's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 13-2 (and 2-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Gonzales, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.
As of now, neither Manual nor Lincoln have any future games scheduled.
