Hamilton and Talawanda are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Big Blue will be playing at home against the Brave at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing isn't great for Hamilton: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Talawanda has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
Having struggled with five losses in a row, Hamilton turned things around against Princeton on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Vikings. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Big Blue have posted since May 16, 2024.

Peyton Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Hamilton is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-5 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Austin Payne was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Noah Davidson was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Talawanda made easy work of Northwest on Thursday and carried off a 21-1 win. The Brave might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.
Talawanda also got a great performance from Jack Stigall as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Stigall a new career-high.
At the plate, Hunter Griffin was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Ryan Wright, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Talawanda has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hamilton, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
