Walnut Ridge is 10-0 against the Cowboys since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Walnut Ridge Scots will head out on the road to face off against the West Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Walnut Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
Last Friday, Walnut Ridge was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to the Bulldogs. Walnut Ridge has struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Dominique Aekins put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Deyaire Adams was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Even though West has not done well against the 76ers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. West managed a 51-47 victory over the 76ers. The victory was just what West needed coming off of a 73-32 defeat in their prior game.
Walnut Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for West, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.
Walnut Ridge strolled past the Cowboys in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 66-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Walnut Ridge since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
