Basketball Recap: South Pointe Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

South Pointe extended their home winning streak to four games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Ry'Darius Hill. The stars were shining brightly for the South Pointe Stallions in a 54-38 victory over the Denmark-Olar Vikings on Thursday thanks in part to Hill, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Denmark-Olar still got an impressive performance from Terrence Hinton, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and three steals. Hinton has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Goodman, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

South Pointe is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Denmark-Olar, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

South Pointe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-45 loss against Cardinal Newman on the 21st. As for Denmark-Olar, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-40 win against Hampton County on the 23rd.
