The Lugoff-Elgin Demons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their tenth straight loss. They were outmatched by Sumter on the road and fell 103-51. Lugoff-Elgin has struggled against Sumter recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Jillian Rush and Kamille Charles certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Rush dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Charles dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Rush scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Teryn Hobson, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Lugoff-Elgin's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-12. As for Sumter, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Lugoff-Elgin will look to defend their home court on Friday against Ridge View at 6:00 p.m. Ridge View is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Sumter, they will head out on the road to face off against Socastee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
