Riley Fuhr tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.
On the hitting side, Center Grove got a massive performance out of Ana Powell, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Powell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Herrmann, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Center Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.
Center Grove's victory bumped their record up to 22-3. As for Decatur Central, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.
Looking ahead, Center Grove will challenge Franklin Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Flashes will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. Decatur Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
